Since I have a SPC 5000 mAh 2S lipo pack lying around with a deans connector, I decided to change the EC3 connectors on the ESC to a deans connector.
For those who want to know part numbers, this is the one that I bought:

Before, with the EC3 connector:

After, with Deans connector installed:

I'm still waiting for the Marine grease and Octura x640 prop to arrive before trying it out at a nearby lake.

I would run 5.5 but that's me.
Make sure you keep a eye on those connector on the motor to esc,
And that deans plug for high temps from the amp draw.

I decided to run the Octura x640 since it's dimensions is very close to stock. How's the 5.5 like? Will the boat be faster with it?Originally posted by lenny View PostI would run 5.5 but that's me.

I'll definitely keep an eye on the connectors you mentioned.
Thanks!
I have decided to run the stock prop since I wanted to do a comparison video between the stock prop and Octura x640.Originally posted by bigcam406 View Postjust wondering, instead of waiting for your prop and grease,go grab some marine grease from a retailer in your area and throw on the stock prop.that way you can see what it runs like stock.then compare it to when you get the 640.

I just plan to run a 5000 mah 30c 2S lipo, so I'm just sticking with the stock connectors. Btw, I have read somewhere that using larger connectors (from motor to ESC) creates more resistance. Is this true?Originally posted by bigcam406 View Postthe 5.5 he mentioned are the size of the connectors to use if need be for the motor to the esc.the stock ones will be fine for what you are using your boat for.

For $10.00 try it and see what it does for the setup.
We all know that is the first thing to change on a rtr boat,
The 5.5 bullets just allow more conductivity for the electricity to flow through the setup a lot better.

I'm going to run my boat stock first to see how hot will the esc and motor be after a 10 min run.Originally posted by lenny View PostFor $10.00 try it and see what it does for the setup.

I already have some 5.5 connectors lying around, so I might have to install them sometime next week.
I must've read something then got the wrong info or something. Lol! Hahahaha.Originally posted by lenny View PostNo.

Do 2 minutes and check temps and for water in the hull to,
Than if all good try 5 minutes and check again.

With a new boat you always need to check it over real good,
Because you never know what your really getting till you run it and than it is to late.
Better safe than sorry.
