Miss llumar nitro to brushless

I picked up a proboat miss llumar with a bad engine that I want to convert to brushless. I want to make this build as simple as possible. I already have a turnigy 120, a pair of 2s 4000mah 30c lipos, and a feigao xl cooling jacket. So my question is which feigao xl motor will give me reliable performance on 4s. Like I said, I'm more concerned about reliability than speed, but I'm hoping this combo will get me into the mid-40's.

Is that the same hull as an elam? I really like the design of both hulls.

Which hull? The first gen. w/solid shaft or the second w/flex shaft?

Not sure, its on its way to me. I wasnt aware their were 2 versions.

Darin Jordan, on this forum, Did a very well documented thread on race prepping a proboat hydro (Miss Elam) hull. Jesse J. and Wolf IV, Diegoboy have done very good work on theirs as well. PM them for tips and advice. I have the first version with a 9L motor with a Y535 prop. It does ok on 3S w/60 amp ESC. Swapped out the 60a ESC for a 100a pulso and just waiting to get it wet.

Sooo..... its either the 8xl or the 9xl.

The Proboat motor or the UL-1 motor should do well in this hull.

Proboat motor is nice, but not enough kv for my 4s lipo setup. The ul-1 motor is a good choice too. Kv is about right for my goal of 30,000 unloaded rpms. Its a 6-pole motor too,right? Do you think the ul-1 motor has more or less torque than the 2-pole feigao xl?

The PB motor is a perfect 4S motor and can swing a decent prop. Its used in their Elam , Blackjack and Fastec...all on 4S. I run one in my 29" LSO on 4S and it rocks!

I ran the Proboat setup in my UL-1 on 4S and hit 45.9mph and I could have got more out of it water was too rough that day slowing me down.

How fast is a stock proboat hydro?

Have a "drop dead gorgeous PB Oh Boy Hull"
No hardware...Wanna get 50mph+
Should I use stock hardware for FE (rudder, strut, turn fin, etc.?)

What Motor, mount, shaft, etc...?

Have Aqua 60a ESC's...

Or...should I leave it as a "display hull?

Willing to spend the $ if I could make 'er go fast...I know they like to flip with rear wing...so what...it's adjustable...

Here is the link to my build thread. Not familiar with the hull you're talkin about, but if the prop is submerged like the proboat hydros, it might be difficult to get 50mph.
