Upgraded from Traxxas Blast to SuperVee 27 and wow!

Well, I have just discovered one thing that helps cooling tremendously at lunch today. I had already put on larger tygon tubing, did the rudder mod with another water pickup at the bottom of the rudder. The motor was still running way too hot after a couple of full throttle laps.
I went in and put a "T" fitting before the line goes to esc and then another "T" fitting where the line comes out of motor and esc then to one line and out. The motor went from too hot to touch too nice and warm. I still can't believe it.

can you snap a picture for us?
I cannot follow how or what you did to get a cooler motor..

I will get you one as soon as I have my camera available......later tonight. My wife left it at the sis in-laws house. I also want to clean up the install a little., My "test layout" looks kind of frankensteinish.....

Edit: I took pics with my phone....duh!!! I have to warn you. I didn't have enough tube to do it the right way. I also need a larger "y" connector. It was just proof of concept and it seems to work.

ScooterP ... you might want to try one of those pool noodles for floatation. When I bought ym SV27 it had styrofoam in it as well but after working ont he boat I found it to get 'crumbly' with little bits falling off of it all the time.

I redid it with on of those 6ft pool noodles from wally world. I even cut pieces to fit along the freeboard. Now it's like a Boston Whaler you can fill it with water and it won't sink. I also siliconed pieces of noodle to the hump in the hatch cover ..... you never know when it might blow off.

I had some material similiar to pool noodle in it before, but I didn't like the way it would absorb water and never dry out. The foam that I am using has some sort of coating on it that is much different from from ordinary packaging foam. It doesn't crumble at all. I found it in one of the boxes that monitors come in at my work.

I also have strips of it in my hatch. My boat will not sink if filled with water either, trust me I know...
