I like the x642,cf45 and I get the most speed out of my cf48 but have to watch temp and it does not handle very well at all. All done with 25c lipos. #1 x642 all around prop close 2nd cf45

the 440 prop I am running is a 3 blade. The boat stays pretty stable as long as the water is calm.

Locktite the fasttec is cool but i am not impressed i have seen them run the sv is faster and flips on its can better im not saying i wont take a free fasttec boat but i wont be buying one. its all in the hands of the driver and the sv is a performer if set up right you know this right? the sv out of the box is really not a starter boat and with mods is a awesome fe. did i mention i ran with 1/5 and 1/8 gassers? the sv did pole dances on all them and i have never pushed the sv harder than i did that day i even ran my car battery dead from charging all day in conclusion...........there is nothing like the sv Brother!!!!!!

on the stock motor I like the m445 or the 440/3 sharpened/balanced/tongue removed, but I run Lipos, I don't remember what prop I used with NiMhs, but I only ran 12 cells anyway.

One thing to consider is that much of the prop advice you'll find here is for a different setup than 2x7-cell packs. Most info is for 2x6-cell packs or Lipos, so you're boat is heavier and/or running more voltage than most others.

IME 3-blades always seemed to make my SV handle the best, so I run 3-blades when I can. In the Spec SV class we all use the 42 x 55, lot's of flipping usually.
The ones Bugzilla mentions are all good choices too.

Really appreciate your advice thanks, just curious what set up (lipos, motor, esc)do you run or what's a little step up as far as motor without changing my stock esc and if an esc is needed what kind should I get always better to get something that is proven trial and error can get expensive

motor upgrade

The 2 upgrades I've heard about with the stock speed control are the ammo 2300 kv and a feigao 9 xl and both you need to keep a close eye on the heat in the esc and start small on the props and go up . The ammo smaller than the 9xl I think the 9xl has the torque for a bigger prop and the ammo is more of a screamer with a small prop. I think some people have also tried l series feigaos but unsure which one? The stock sv motor is pretty good all around motor for speed, rpm, torque and the biggest thing it's very durable.

Just got the ammo 2300 for the sv, very nice upgrade over the stock motor. i used a cf 45 for the first run and its to much prop for the ammo motor a cf 40 and smaller is the way to go in my opinion. The stock sv motor and the ammo motor have different rev sounds at high rpm the sv motor is louder the ammo wants to keep going. i am very happy with the 2300. I am taking it out and saving it for show off days The stock sv motor is not to shabby either but it was nice to see other than prop choices i have motor choices to.
