    revolt 30 leopard build..

    So I had a revolt 30 and got bored with the speed so I decided to build one of mine up, and leave the other one stock.

    Leopard 3674 and 180a speedo.


    Dual water pickup installed


    So I take the boat out. I ripped for about a minute.. than lost forward power... boat drifted back and found out the flex shaft broke at the prop shaft and submarined my fresh m445. Removed the remaining part of flex, and found this..



    So I hopped on ose and ordered an hd flex cable for a proboat Impulse. Its a .187 flex with a 3/16" prop shaft. Also came with attached drive dog, and the fancy prop nuts. I had to cut the flex approximately 1/2" to match the stock length and removed the teflon liner.



    And heres a shot with the flex installed, with an x445 prop.

      Very nice! I like the dual water outlet! Question: How did you mount the transom pickup? did you use the existing hole on the strut bracket? If so, how can the transom pickup do double duty to hold the bracket tight against the transom? Just want to learn!

        The transom pickup has a bolt from the inside and uses the factory strut mount bolt hole. The stock strut mount bolts were a larger diameter, so I was able to remove the stock bolt and put the pickup bolt through the metal support on the transom and it clamps the strut. Backwards from how the bolt would go from the factory, the head of the bolt is on the inside.

        I got the idea from dirtsnowrider. His revolt was a huge inspiration for my dual water cooling project.

            I will try to get video asap. It should run pretty good.

            The existing outlet hole was used for the second inlet, also. The motor is connected to the transom pickup because the flow from the rudder is not constant I feel. When making a left turn, I find it hard to believe that the rudder is still picking up water. And I believe my motor will be the main source of heat in my setup. If this proves incorrect ill switch the flow so the esc gets the transom pickup.

              I was thinking the motor would produce the most heat. Ill run it and check temps, than adjust lines as needed.

              Im looking for 50mph with the x445. I will be happy with that.

                I am not familiar with this boat, did you enlarge the pick up hole on the rudder, I seem to recall that was one of the notice AC put out. I have a Pursuit with only a rudder picket, seems to work.
                Your first run take a very close look at the temp and you should be good.

                  Mine is a gen 2 with the revised pickup. That notice was for gen 1 revolts if I remember correctly. Im really not a fan of the revolts rudder pickup.. it seems to me if its running dry enough the rudder pickup would be at the water surface

                    Well, with the dual pickup you have either choice, I think it's going to be great! This is a funny hobby, most of my boats are in a "down time" right now, I got rid of the bounces on my MG, but I had to re-bend the stuffing tube for a more negative angle, haven't had time to try that out yet. Couple of other boats needs some improvement as I am learning more, I want to do it the right way. So I am flying my heli to get the rush. lol...

                      Today I worked the m545 and got halfway through polishing it. Thinned it quite a bit, sharpened and balanced it.

                          Its not hard once you understand what youre doing.. I screwed up about 5 props trying different ways to cut them. I can do a 2 blade prop in about 2 hours by hand. The m545 took about 3 hours to get where it is, the prop was very thick. I have about a half hour of polishing left and itll be ready to run

                            Thats odd. Mine ran great with the x445 all stock. If the m545 doesnt run good I have a detongued 642 sitting here

                              The x445 is the best running prop I have for my stock revolt. Im going to test the leopard revolt with the m545 today and see where Im at. I plan on raising the strut a few mm to get some hull in the water.
