Yep.. no need for a thrust bearing.. (shhh.. ya can tell em all ya want but they wont listen...lol).... Remember.. these motors are made to push and pull.. Not much need for grear drives anymore!

    Keep us posted

Look and learn from my screw ups.

In my attempt to make an already great new boat better I have caused my own problems. So I want to share my screw ups with everyone so we all can get these Re Volts flying. At 35-38 mph I am too used to it, because my old boats ran this speed. Running 45 mph keeps my attention HA!!! HAVE FUN BE SAFE. Mike

k.i.s.s. Keep it simple stupid..... Oh boy this could have really been bad because I installed a Thrust bearing on my motor and to my surprise it did GREAT job of cutting off oil to motor bearing. NOT A GOOD THING. Removing thrust bearing!!! Since I researched the 695Z motor bear (s) which can handle all the propeller end thrust without any problem! I am buying BOCA Ceramic one's I will let you people know how they work I believe it will be good.

I was lazy and just used ACERGOO instead of walking ten steps to get my Grim Speed Grease. Do not use ACERGOO on any boat cable drive because Yikes it caused quick-accelerated wear on prop stub Yikes. ACERGOO works great on my RC cars and trucks so don't take this wrong. Wonder how they would do with Grim SG? BTW ACER offers SIN Lube which I did use on my motor bearings nice lube.

      Grim,
Thank you for designing this boat I promise not to screw it up anymore.
      Mike
P.S. Are the 695Z bearings Flanged or non-Flanged? And have you tried them?
      Mike,

Not a mistake.. a guy has got to try things.. its in out blood!
Non Flanged and no I have not!

I bought two containers of Grim Grease when I bought my boat and grease the shaft after the day is over. I thought I may be over doing it but want to make sure it's good.

I am running a m445 prop and running 41- 44 mph. Raced against an older supervee last weekend and was reeling it in on the straights and certainly have the advantage on the corners as well. I will also say raising the strut up a bit will lower the hull in the water and reduce the chine walk. I did this on mine and saw a noticable difference in the handling of the boat for the better. I am setting the battery about mid point in the tray. Any further forward and I notice there is a greater likelyhood to stuff the boat in a good race chop. Not too fun to hold your breath as you wait for you boat to come back to the surface....or not...

That sucks to hear Mike. How many runs do you think you had on the motor?

Mike, your current speeds with the stock vs 45x68 prop are almost exactly what mine are (mine 35.8 and 40.4). If you do get it back up please let me know, I will do the same to mine.
              Good luck and thanks,
              Tom

It ran great but hooked on the second lap and ended upside down. He had plenty of power and the twin and single Nitro and Gas guys where going to have there hands full LOL. He did say he just ran it setup for SAW and ran 103 mph. I had to leave before the next heat.

Maybe I was lucky running my boat on the first day as the water/weather conditions where perfect. The Revolt is a SOLID 38 MPH boat case closed!!!
Anything over 40 mph is a gift so if we all look at it this way a very hard boat to beat for the $$$$. Looking back on my first day of running 8.5.12 there was wind and the water had 1" chop but still the motor was singing 26,000. Like I said just running on the prop screaming. I am going to get a new 1800kv stock motor or the closest to the stock one so I can get back to solid 45's just because that is what I WANT. I will keep you posted.

                Mike,

Looking back at my data this should not be case closed. Im not sure what might have happen to the system". I have dozens of runs up and over 40 MPH..

It just might be that Mike Ball has as much time as I do with a "production" systems Revolt and maybe he can chime in too.

The only thing I can think of is I like my boats looser then most.. not loose mind you but looser then most. Most people that drive my boats comment thats the case.

My 45X68 is good for passes in and around 43 to 45 mph lap after lap.

I think Brain B has also been able to get his boat in the mid 40 without this unknown loss of speed.

Im still trying to think what might be causing this. Im not going to make the race this weekend up at the Badgers but let me know what the other FE dudes have to say.. Maybe chat with Sean too!

Then.. have you contacted Product services to see if others have been having this issue. Call em.. Talk to Jack..Let em know your a racing bud of mine and lets see what they say.

                  Hi Mike,
Sounds like a good time at the races.

Thanks for all your feedback with your experiences and changes. I'm pretty happy with 41mph, although a few more mph wouldn't hurt. I might try a 4s battery instead of two 2s. At some point in the future I would like to get an adjustable ESC. It was just recommended for me to try a HobbyWing Seaking 90-amp. My current ESC works well but would like to raise the LVC and it is not adjustable.

                  Thanks,
                  Tom

No problem you know we only go around once in this Great life, Like my Dad told me, you can be either part of the problem or part of the solution. He also told me all people are just people until they prove differently to you. If it has wheels or txt's you will have trouble with it. How right he was!!!! Mom Divorced him out of the blue when I was 11 Back to Boats Ha, I never ran my batteries down to bump or stutter Batteries 140F+ until chasing the missing mph. 41 mph is good but when in runs 44-46 mph it just dances on the the 45x68 prop and it is still very drivable it looks out of control and gets my heart racing. Makes me feel alive that's why I have to find it and get it back to 44-46 and I will leave the boat alone and start on my SAW boat. HobbyWing Seaking 90-amp as long as you can put 10 degree timing in the motor I guess it will be ok but I don't see a reason to spend more money on my boat. I get a good run time now. I think about the gas guys who tell me I can run 20 mins .....my arms will fall off LOL.

Mike, I'm right there with you, working on 61 and always eager to share what I know with everyone.

Here are the available timing's for the HobbyWing Seaking 90-amp.
                    Timing 0.00° 3.75° 7.50° 11.25° 15.00° 18.75° 22.50° 26.25°
                    Will any of these work?
Here's the Manual. Please take a look: http://www.hobbywing.com/uploadfiles...nual/HW-15.pdf

I ran last night with both my batteries stacked in the middle, I like it! Hardly no chine walking and handled very well. I think next time I buy batteries I will get 4s instead of two 2s

You guys should give the zippy compact 4s 35c 3300mAH packs, get two of these run in parallel in the bottom position (they fit perfect side x side) they combine to 6600mAH, 70c and easily handle the load even with a bigger prop. These packs are a great value, you can't go wrong iMO. I've used lipo's for many years, these packs in this config hold out better than most single 4s packs on the market, PS they come stock w/ 5.5 bullets which is nice too..

Linky.. load it wait a few minutes and they offer a slightly lower price as well. USA Warehouse LINK -------- and the International Linky

                          Mike,

I am running these and I am very happy with its performance. I guess the price is good too. I found this provider online and have been buying batteries from them since then.
