    First run on the UL-1

well the first run was on some wind chop water and it gps at 41.1 not to bad for out of the box, I must say the turning radius was terrible so I need to change the location of the control rod to incress the turning, but I'm pleased with it.
now to start on some mods but I'm going to wait for some glass conditions and get another base run

I moved the steering rod up I think 2 notches on the servo arm to help with the handling. As far as mods on this hull, if you have the re-inforced hull on the turn fin area no real mods are needed. Once you get glass water you should register mid-high forties stock. Just grab a grim L40x57 s&b and that's the only thing you will really need to buy on this hull. Start playing with strut depth and with the prop I mentioned you should break 50mph stock.

I never sharpened the turn fin, I did round the rudder though and opened the cooling hull on the rudder which really isn't necessary. After you start running the boat with the new prop and adjusting the strut right if the boat starts getting a little flighty on you then you may need to add a small airdam if the boat runs great and doesn't try to get airborne on you then you won't need one. I didn't use one although I prob should have. I had a bigger motor in though (which I advise not to use lol). Air-dams are great when needed, they will help keep the boat on the water and increase speed by actually keeping the hull glued, but if used when not needed or too large they create excess drag and will load up the motor/esc more then needed.

Sharpen the turnfin but only on the outter side. Just a nice file will do it.

Yea I have an x440-3 but I think I butchered it when detounging, took to much off and now the prop looks small, I'll try it anyway and see what happens then go get another prop,
my LHS does'ent carry grim props so I'm looking at octura props, next one I won't detoung right away, I do have an x640, x642, x645 I think as far as 2 blade the 642 and 645 are to big,
            any suggestions would be great.
