    Need some setup help

So I have a UL-1 and need to get it setup.

Currently plan to use a medusa 1600kv 60mm long 4 pole motor. I have it and a water jacket already installed. 5mm shaft so it fits the drive system in the UL-1.

Esc will be a turnigy 120 amp model. Thinking I will run 5s lipo, but I can run 4s if that would be better for the medusa 1600kv. That kv with a nominal 3.7v per cell gives around 30k rpms...

Never fooled with a hydro, always monos so some baseline strut setup would be handy too. And some guidance of where to go with adjustments would be appreciated.

    Thanks guys.

There is lots of good info in this forum on the starting setup for a UL1. Basic strut setup is depth at 1". Thats 1" off the bottom of the hull. Strut should be set to neutral ride angle. This might change later as you fine tune. Depending on what prop selection you have you might need to go deeper as you move up in prop sizes. I dont know about that Medusa motor but should work fine on 5S and speeds you prefer or will be happy with. On 6S you will want to stick with a smaller prop as a 120 amp speedo could be your weak link. Using the factory gear folks have run up to a 45mm prop. Mine is setup with a 42mm prop and I am happy as is.
