You can pressure test your cooling system, some of the early versions had leaky water jackets.
If it doesn't have it already slip a piece of fuel tube over the end of the stuffing tube to stop water coming up the flexshaft, you can just slide it back when you have to undo the collet.
I cut a piece of shamwow to fit in the back to soak up spills just in case.

I did that & found a small leak in the water jacket. Plus i think some water was coming thru the stuffing tube.. I need to add a small piece of fuel tubing to the stuffing tube.
