What GPS do you use?

I have a garmin etrek but it seems a little heavy so it throws off my c of g and adding weight must slow it down as well, is there a small light version I'm missing?

I've been using the Garmin Forerunner 101 for a few years. Quite small and lite.

I see the 201 used a lot, but maybe I just watch to many of kfxguy's vids?

I'm cruising ebay, but not sure If one garmin is better than another?

Voltron V3 gps and altitude logger... Not cheap but works very well...

voltron v3 about $100 but is the one you want! very nice and light also. i have one and really like it!

I use a regular Garmin Nuvi 295W car GPS. Its big and a bit heavy, but it didn't cost me anything more and it was sitting around doing nothing now that I use my phone for GPS.

Garmin is very nice, but as said, sometimes it's a bit too big and heavy for smaller boats. Sometime ago I bought this controversial GPS unit, while some people had trouble with it ON WATER, i have used it side by side with my Garmin e Trex and the indicated speed is pretty much spot on with the Garmin.
This unit is sold by Horizon Hobby with a much higher/inflated price tag.

Note that you must drive your boat longer to get an accurate reading than the Garmin, I believe it checks with the satellites in a longer interval. It is what it is, the unit is extremely light, i place it in a medicine zip lock bag and tape it outside the hull most of the time. It comes with calibration in kilometers per hour but if you down load their software you can converse it to the Imperial System.

I had the 101 first. It takes two aaa batteries and is thicker and a little heavier. Then I lost it because it flew out of one of my boats during a flip. So then I tried a 201. It's thinner, lighter and rechargeable. I like it much better. It updates speed very quickly. I'll stick with this one till I find something better.

I had one for a while. The refresh rate was a little slow. For quick passes where you don't stay at wot for very long it wouldn't read the max speed accurately. The Garmin 201 and Voltron are what I use now. Both work great.

The little Voltron is awesome too, just need to supply power to it. But the input voltage is anywhere from 4.8-12v. For small hulls, it's perfect.
