In regard to the stinger placement, I believe it should be several millimetres above the level of the keel, not flat with it as such. This way there will be more of the boat hull sitting in the water, reducing chine walk.

What causes a prop to ?lift??
The propeller produces lift, just like the wings (the blades of the propeller are effectively little rotating wings), only the propeller is sideways, so the "lift" pushes the airplane forwards, instead of pushing it upwards. ... From Newton's 3rd law, the air pushes back on the propeller and this is our thrust.
