Is there an ideal theoretical RPM for props? I realize different sizes, pitch, or number of blades would mater. Is there maybe a chart somewhere? If I am going to run a 31" mono with maybe a X442 or M442 on 4 cell, I would need to choose a Kv for what target RPM? Hope this makes sense.

Oh man, here we go LOL.......JK.
There are many different opinions on this, but many would say that, for regular sport running, 30,000-35,000 is a good, safe place to start, as when you get up to 40,000+ there is much less room for error in setup. With a smaller prop like a 442, you can certainly get away with a bit higher rpm's though. IMO, for 4s sport running, 1800-2200kv is a great all around choice, and you could prob even go bigger on prop, depending on size of motor, esc, and batts. My private off road rc track

I have a Lucas Oil on 4 cell with the stock 1800. So that would be theoretically 26,640 RPM? Runs real good with a X442.Originally posted by kevinpratt823 View PostOh man, here we go LOL.......JK.

Thanks, that is handy. I see how the range gets narrower as the cell count goes up.Originally posted by 785boats View PostThis is a good guide.Dumas Air Boat OS 25 nitro, Dumas Air Boat Brushless, Midwest Lobster Boat, AQ Lucas Oil Cat, Dumas Hot Shot IV Proboat outboard, Delta Force Cyber Storm 33

Thanks, what would be the maximum temp for motor and ESC?Originally posted by montymike View PostCould use a x445/m445 easy if t step up to a m545 (watch your temps.) On bigger prop.
