I have a mini rio. Changed out the stock esc and am now using 2s lipo batteries. Pretty fast for a small boat. I installed a t-400 motor and it runs even better but the motor does get a little hot. What's a good cooling jacket for this small motor? Are silicon jackets any good..

I have had success with silicone jackets at speeds no faster than 40 mph. I'm not sure if I would trust them at higher speeds. I'm not familiar with your motor. I would think that there are metal jackets to fit the motor. I have also used a coil cooler on my smaller motors.

Can't use a metal jacket on a brushed motor, not enough room for it.Originally posted by jstolz View PostI have had success with silicone jackets at speeds no faster than 40 mph. Went to AQ site and found this pic... http://www.aquacraftmodels.com/boats...80motor-lg.jpg -- looks like there might be enough room for this little guy... http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...?prod=gnd-4194 - behind the strap that holds the motor down.
You could use one of these guys... http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-lrg-y -- to feed water into both the stock cooler and the silicon jacket at the same time.
nother on the back side to get the water back out, just an idea.
