Oh I tried it with 4S on my last run... you musta missed the post. It was SICK!

Check this out. Id say Im 99.9% sure, this is my motor. I did a search for AMAX 2045 brushless, this car came up. It is the exact, can, color, wire colors and the KV sticker is the same. Mine just doesnt say Fusion on it... WAIT, maybe it does. It would be UNDER the water jacket. Sometimes I feel so smart.

If it is a 100amp ESC that can handle 6s, I say try it with 4s after you get the rudder.

Once you get the rudder, raise the strut back up, would like to see some video. There's nothing like a big roostertail.

LOL Doesn't a big tail = inefficient propulsion... thats at least what I was taught with my gassers... low and long is what I was told... But tails are sweet...

Yea, I read that. I'm just tired and forgot. The temps on the ESC were fine. So get that rudder mounted. I want to see how this runs on 4s and handling properly.

It can be. But that depends on alot of other things. Look at some of the videos that some of the other guys have posted.

Yeah Ive seen a bunch of vids with boats in the 100 mph range wtih insane tails, but I assumed if it was doing 30, like mine, it would be lower and long.

Problems solved! I had about 10 min to test real quick this am. Ran FANTASTIC!!! I ran it on the 3s and was able to turn at full throttle in somewhere around a 20 to 25 foot diam. turn. It ran it flawless. No bouncing, no sliding, not even looking like it was going to do something crazy. I wanted to push its limits and try and roll it but didnt have the time to rescue a capsized boat. Maybe later.

I will hopefully run it again late afternoon, again w/ 3s and then w/ 4s with video for comparison of the two.

Oh, as for the brass screw in the rudder. How tight do you put this. With my gassers, having larger screws (both stainless) , I wasnt afraid to tighten it up really well. Then the bottom screw bracket was slotted very long so the rudder could kick way up and never break a screw. So I never "had" to use brass. While running it this am, I tightened the top stainless screw fairly tight and the brass screw just pretty nug. After running, the rudder had kicked back about 1/2 inch. Do I tighten the heck out of the brass screw as well???

So its been raining off and on all afternoon. I went out between showers, was still kinda sprinkiling, but got about a min of vid before the camera died. Always something.

This run was on 4s (2 2s 5000 in series) After the camera shut down I hit a submerged garbage bag. Stoppped the boat dead. It struggled to get back in and took a couple minutes at that. After I cleared the rudder and prop, I hit the throttle and it was in cut off mode for the Lipos. So I brought it up to the house, took the hatch off (maybe 3 min after it came out of the water)

ESC 109F
Motor 134F.... Im thinking maybe because I struggled w/ it for 3 or 4 minutes bringing it in with the bag wrapped all around it. It was pretty bad. I will run it again tomorrow on the 4s and see what happens.

Looks pretty good...Alot better than before. Where is your strut now? what prop are you using? Where are your batteries placed? Do you have any pics of current setup?
What time is it there now?

Strut is about 1/16 below the bottom of the sponsons and almost at 0 degress. Maybe pitched up about a half, x442 prop (no mods only balanced and sharpened), batts are in the tunnels, cog, which you didnt ask but Im going to tell you because you meant to, is at 31% and I will get some pics posted tomorrow with the batts installed.

I may try a 642 tomorrow...
