The ID of the front of the strut is 4mm, with the bushing. If that is what you were asking.

I use the soldering iron method. It concentrates the heat right at the stuffing box while a hair dryer heats up a large area. On some cheaper or thin fiberglass hulls, you risk warping the hull.

I just use a hair dryer ( my daughters much to her disgust) the epoxy softens over 60 deg C and pull the lot out. Having said that I run a .78 wire in my whip 40 in a stuffing tube set up for a .187 flex and it works great!

Cool, Just wonder if you had a blank strut there without a bushing.

It should be 4mm, because thats what the previous prop shaft was.
