thats what i do take the cooling plate of add a set of battery wires to the top board if running 2p, conformal coat, then sand the fets flat with wet& dry on a piece of wood, replace cooling plate. re shrink wrap
Hi model esc cooling?

no we understood ea other.. ill try this on the hi models as well...as far as low amp draws it aint happenen do to the lack of r/ hand props for this twin set up..check out my maritimo build... this is what these will be going in.Originally posted by Simon.O. View PostThe square tubes on the plate,
It read like you had tried that on your sentilions.
If I got that wrong then please accept my apologies.
I like the lower cost ESC and keep the Amp draw well below what the packet says.

" add a set of battery wires to the top board if running 2p" im not getting this part? do you mean soldering more wire to the boards for better/ more current flow?

if running parallel packs ,eg,4s 2p instead of making some sort of addapter for both batterys to plug in to just add a set of wires to the top board as the pins go all the way threw that way both batterys have there own set of wires and plugs.
what do you guys put the plate back on with i have tried thermal paste but dont like how it can move, there is a electronics place here called jaycar you can get 2 pieces 10cm by 10cm of double sided thermal tape for about 10 bucks

A more efficient ESC cooling method in hulls with large internal volumes is to use CPU cooling fans. The fans remove heat from the heat sink better than the little water tubes ever can, are easy to set up and don't leak.
"Lapping the FETs" sounds great until you cut too deep into a high one and ruin the ESC. Dielectric grease is more efficient and safer for heat transfer, but it's your ESC......

I used both water cooling tubes AND a 40mm CPU fan for mine...Originally posted by Fluid View PostA more efficient ESC cooling method in hulls with large internal volumes is to use CPU cooling fans. .
The fan blows from the side to circulate air through all the layers of FET's.

very nice
I use the OSE cooling plate on my HM200 in my delta 29 pushing 156 amps and no problem so far

No problem with my 2 Hi model 200's, both are coated with plasticote, one in my xzess2 using a 7xl and the other in my DF29 using a 8xl both with 4s. I flipped the xzess2 on a turn and the tape let go in the back because of the tail fin tearing it loose, it sank to the point that only the sponsons where pointing out, retrieved it cleaned and dried the parts using alcohol (isopropol not rye
) and it runs great again.

air cooled esc
I used a large muffin fan to cool all layers of fets in the 200 amp esc.Attached FilesReddyWatts fleet photo

only cooling i use at the moment is a cooling fan in one of the cats running a 7xl 4s modded x447/3.
other boats are only pulling around 80-100 amps so dont need it.
never sanded threw a fet to far, if its that high its best just to resolder the fet

Will the mystery and himodel esc's work with pistol grip radios? I am looking for some cheap replacements for my BJ, but mostly want to use brushless in my Mini C. I can never tell which esc is compatible with pistol radio, as most small esc's seem to be designed for heli's and planes.

not sure of some of the smaller escs but the 200 amp works with pistol radios and the turnigy marine escs should as well
