I just wanted to know what size and pitch of prop I should start with to push a 22" boat at a nice speed? And what prop do you think I would end up with? I've seen 7xl's push a 22-24" boat into the low to mid 40's with an Octura x640.
prop size?

It will depend on hull type, motor specs and what is considered a nice speed.
For example I have 4 hulls Hydro, Canard, Rigger, Cat that ar all 22-25" long and run on a Feigao 8S powered by 4S1P Lipo. prop is 432 or 632 for the rigger.
Nice speed for these boats range from Mids 30's to low 40's.
If you can let us know the intended hull then we can help a little more.See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Guess my type of "nice speed" would be low to mid 40's. The hull will be a DF Vortex 22" Hydro, 6xl (2779kv) Feigao motor, and the batts will be a minimum of 2, 4900mah, 25c, 2s lipo's. I have three props that I can identify and they are the stock bj26bl prop, octura x642, and grimracer 40x52/3. I have two other props but I'm unsure of their sizes and pitches. One is off of an NQD Admiral 40", dual 550 silver can, cat, and the other is off of my 7.5cc outboard nitro which was on my Dumas Hot Shot.Originally posted by Simon.O.
