electric mono question

When installing the flex shaft into the strut should it be pushed up against the bearing tight to the drive dog or should there be a slight space? I do have a small brass 1/16 spacer in between the bearing and the drive dog..

I would leave at least 1/8" if I were you, for the reason that Gerwin stated.
