If not overpowered the Dragon lady is a nice model. At a race in Dallas one of the FE guys entered it in 24 cell mono and did pretty well. The boat was fast and handled well on the large 1/6th mile course - except for the wind. It did have trouble staying upright, but then so did every other boat in the heats.

Would it be my first choice as a heat race boat? No, but as a sport boat it has a lot of potential. Just depends on what you want. The only real negative about the hull I see is the very rearward hatch - it limits how far forward you can mount the motor.

It scores high with me just on scale looks alone:). I like my Maus hull but when it comes to looking like what is raced off shore it falls very short. That seems to be the trade off with models. What looks scale don't seem to perform like the race built speed & handeling type hulls.

im just looking for a scale looking sport boat. im looking for good runtimes instead of pure speed. i was thinking about a mega 22/45/2 (1380kv) or a 12xl on 12-16 cells.

Do you have a prefrence for glass over ABS? Sounds like a Super Hawaii would be right up your alley. I found a very rare fiber glass nitro version on ebay, fell asleep and missed the end of the listing. But the ABS hull is stepped and 40 inches long. It will scoot along nice with a 700sc in 12 to 14 cells. They are not to hard to find.

Oh I agree it's a Fountain clone. But ya know so is the Rio roses. It is one of the next 2 boats I do. It's plenty long enough and it's scale just like the DL. I'll have to cut out the stern and do my own 90 degree version to accept a stinger strut, tabs and fins. I'm going 10XL direct on that one with 16 cells.

Yeah thats about right. 30 is plenty long for a wave crushing offshore sport boat.

ya but 30" looks pretty small sitting next to a couple of these. the one on the bottom is a 1/10 scale.

The guy he sold it to loves it. But like I said, it will not be a good choice for overpowering.
