I think the main reason people over there run Lehner is because of the service and support.. Same reason for alot of the racers here running Neu,, they are able to get the service and support they require when spending LARGE amounts of money.. I can tell you it is a MAJOR HASLE when having to deal with Lehner on repairs as an American.. Neu is a totally different story,,, they speak perfect english,, give great support and repair turn around.. I am sure the guy's over there feel the same about Lehner..
If money is NO CONCERN,,, you should own BOTH for sure!!! They are both wonderful motors, high quality, very powerful, and reliable..
That is a great response and very true. It is a bit of a shame that we can not get great service and support, regardless of where you live for these motors. If each set up a factory sponsered dealership in foreign markets, what a bonus but probably does not make economic sense. The sad part is we do not get an oppurtunity to really evaluate whether one has a strength over the other in performance and quality

I asked that question to a guy I know and he said that after all is said and done,
NEUs get prohibitively expensive and also whatever Richard is saying below.
I run both Lehner 3060 and Neu 2215 in big cats and personally prefer the Neu's... The Neu's are cheaper, made in USA, have more torque, and power to weight ratio is much better.. JMO
Should be getting a Neu 2230/1Y anyday.. I have been VERY pleased with the 2215's,, I cant wait to see what this BEAST will do!!
it's in German but look at the second bullet point and you'll understand the "2 pol" part of it.
this goes fro the 15,19 and 22 series... makes me wonder about the 30.
