I am not sure of the proper way to do it! Because the stuff I used had adhesive on it I did not put a top coat on it. I'm relatively new to this building also!

I wrapped the mat on the sides of the tunnel also!

BY the way that company does have a website!

Oh yeah if you get these mats from them - they are a little stiff but if you hit them with a hair dryer they become pretty soft!

I think I might just go with two or three layers of 5oz fiberglass cloth from OSE....hell the boats made out of fiberglass

anyone else just use glass for repair or strengthen?

Bustitup - its your call -- but if I remember right the reason for using the Carbon fiber was weight! Each time You use a sheet of glass you have to lay down another coat of epoxy!

                  bustitup,

There are cheaper options out there in carbon fiber, such as the mesh version I mentioned previously. While this type is not woven, it has similar strength and certainly less weight than the fiberglass.

do they give the weight ?? That looks like lightweight "veil" cloth...

I've used CF cloth with weights around 5 oz sq yd in my reinforcements....

Consider perusing my link above for ACP....I've met the proprietors (George and Barbara Sparr) and they are good people

well I found a place right here in my county that sells there carbon fiber weaves in 5.7oz they will sell a "blemished" yard 36"x60" for $24 and they have kevlar too which is pretty reasonable

I will find out the weight next time I go into the LHS, granted they have it on the shelf by the time you all buy them out! LOL!
