I opened up a PM today and could not quite get it to open until it started to download something which i quickly closes.
I then open back up firefox and click on my tab and book marks and favorites and it will not work. every time i click something it opens up a "saved file"
and all my fire fox links do not work , every time i click they take me to a properties folder.

Yes, this is way too extreme. Kinda like saying DON'T DRINK MILK just because you got a spoiled carton. If you had immediately told Steven who sent the virus - instead of crying wolf to everyone - the problem would already be solved...

well he did look like this

Steven, the PM was from yudruln8.. however it didn't even get to the page. it was showing that it was loading for a while, then my download window opened up and fire fox froze. so i went into the task manager and stopped the processes.
I have since uninstalled fire fox and re installed it and it seems to be working now.

I use Zone Alarm and have had good results. I run the Zone Labs Internet Suite. It seems to have less overhead while operating. I've seen most of the others fail in person and usually I'm the one who has to do the cleanup. However, since 2001, I have not had an infection on any computer or server that I own or helped someone else with that I have not been able to fully recover, even when I resort to recovering by hand. And trust me, I've seen some of the worst ones!

I don't think it could run on my machine with the permissions I have set. I went back to the log files and it did indeed prevent the active content in question.
