I have herd positive and couple negative posts. One was a cell venting @ just over 40 amps and another post of one popping. It was on RCU a while back. It's like anything else I bet. Hell I had one of my oldest IB3600s go. I found it last night while dismantling a 7 cell pack I needed to drop down to 5. It happens.

"Sizzle-Crack-Pop"... and the acid spewing out all over your hands is another sign...Originally posted by boater76 View PostHow do you know when cells vent etc?

The cells I've had vent hiss and you can see the top of the cell popped off or buldged, etc... It's pretty obvious when it happens...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Thats why when I buy IB4200's I always buy a few extra cells to replace the bad ones and there will be bad cells.

We ran the 3600s last season... In fact... I had some packs of just about each variety, for each of my boats... so I was able to do some really good side-by-side comparisons...Originally posted by Jeepers View PostBut I did read that Brian Bauss set a record with the elite 3600s but thats it. may be Iwill do a search on RR to see.
The Elites were GREAT.... for about 6-cycles... Afterwhich they fell off RAPIDLY and just wouldn't perform... They got out of balance VERY easily and never really got their punch back...
The GP 4300s were "OK", but also not great... The best cells I had were the IP3800s and the IB4200 SC WC cells... thought they have their quality issues as well... The IB's seem to be holding up the best... Kind of wierd, I know, but that's been the case...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA
