Hey , just got a great deal on a toysport triton hull and hardware from Andrew at fast electrics here in Australia. Realy stand up guy. Any way was thinking of 8L with hydra 120 and 4s lipo 38-40mm prop. Any ideas would be great.

A 8L on 4s is way too hot.
Are you just playing, (sport running) or racing your buds??

Racing my mates, most of them run nitro. My f1 beats most of them but the hull realy is over the limit at 38 mph would like consistant 45-48 mph out of the triton. It is my first mono so any help is realy great.

I would run a 12xl and 6s pack.

Then my suggestion would be a 8XL 2084kv and you'll have your hands full.( Steven has you in the same ballpark.) We have two that are running 2200kv motors on 4s 4900s and they are insane, 108 amps in the straight-aways.
Does your hull have a flood chamber?

Yes it has the flood chamber, what size and pitch prop are these insane water rats running? esc etc.

Neu 1515 1Y with B-125 (no water cooling )one is running a Hydra 240. Props, X440-442. There hands are FULL!!!

ok can't afford the 240 but the 120 is on. How about 9xl with hydra 120 and x638

Dougs right on with his suggestion. I personally would run a 9xl or 10xl if you are not racing. With the 9xl or 10xl you will also be able to swing a bit larger prop to offset some of the speed loss from the 8xl.

And the 120 will get the job done!!
