    Brushless

Hi all I'm in the process of building a royal navy motor gun boat, similar to a motor torpedo boat, they had a top speed of about 42knts. It is going to be 12th scale of 71 inches long and 20 inch beem with a deep V hull. It should be triple engines but I might build it as a twin. Just wanted to know what size and type of brushless motors I would need.thanks.

I don't really know scale speed too well but if my calc is correct, a 1/12 scale speed would be 12 ish kts?

a lot goes into it rather than just size / type of motors, what cell count are you going to run? i'm guessing you will want a fair bit of ballast weight given the hulls large WPA / volume

Take a look at this site for some ideas. The information is a little out of date, but similar ESCs and motors are available from Offshore Electrics.
