    Mono/Eco 25inch setup

    ey peeps,

I am setting up an H&M Firebee. Some images of the same boat here (not mine). It is a 25 inches long hull. My setup now is:

    Motor: Leopard LBP3650/4D *3430UpM/V
    ESC: Flycolor 90amp
    Batteries: 2 (parallel) x 3S Turnigy 40C 2200mah.

I am now testing a Graupner C 3 blades 30mm, and I suspect it is way too small, it takes a long time for the boat to get on plane (from the sound, I think the propeller is too much out of the water), but once it is on plane it is really fast. It gets on plane after a a couple of seconds of WOT, and then it just takes off...

I have pushed the CG a bit behind and it improved slightly, but still, something is wrong with the setup... CG is aprox at the 30-33% of the length, so I think it is not really wrong. On plane it is really bumping good, not too head heavy I think, although I will move CG a bit more behind I think. Will record a video.

I am now tempted to try with a 36mm prop, do you think it will be too much for ESC & motor? I don't want to destroy anything. After having achieved a decent setup with these plastic prop, I am planning to change it with a better one. What should I go for? Octura? which one?

    Thanks so much!

I think you're 100% right in all aspects. too small of a prop go 36mm. get whatever brand is in stock. what size prop shaft? the TFL props are cheap and decent enough to buy a couple for the price of 1 octura to see what works. Id try 36mm to 40mm range and monitor temps of course.

      cool, thanks!

      This is the shaft:

      so rigid 270mm.

Will find myself a temperature logger and monitor battery current, and try with a 36mm Graupner that I have around. Will post results soon :)

      Thanks!
