ran my twin avenger today. 4082 1600, seaking 180's, 5s2p wired for 10,000 mah. ran first 2 sets of packs. ran fine. 3rd set ran a little low on power. brought it in after a minute of running. 5mm bullets to esc at motor end were hotter than normal. 120 degrees. 1 of the bullets were loose. battery sustained this damage. got hot at the wire connection to battery. readings on cell checker were 3,765, 3.774, 3.755. should I replace batteries after I fix bullets to motor?
bad connection

For the insulated wire to get hot enough to melt heat shrink, the tab must have been a LOT hotter than LiPos should get.
I would treat that pack with extreme suspicion.Paul Upton-Taylor, Greased Weasel Racing.

yes twins. first 2 runs were fine. 3rd run was lower power. brought it in after 2 minutes as I thought these set of packs were just not as good as first 2. never had a set of packs that ran lower. next time i will stop run immediately. yes, will keep a close eye on this set of packs. thanks everyone.Originally posted by srislash View PostI would cycle the battery and see how it is. It has two motors this hull? If so and one side lost a connector than the other ide would've worked harder and boat certainly would've been slower. Was there a cool down period between runs?
