T.p. 4050 - 5d - 2310 kv / esc ?

guys , running this t.p. 4050 - 2310 kv motor with a 180 amp esc on 4s . is this esc big enough to handle this size motor or should i go up to a 220 or 240 amp esc ? thanks.

i did mention an issue with the esc cutting out prematurely with this motor in my jae 21/fe and i have fitted a seperate rx battery incase it was a fault with the low voltage cut out on the hk 180 esc. this is a powerfull motor as you know , it has very strong magnets compared to a 1515 or 1415 neu this is why i feel maybe this motor is more suited to a larger esc . battery pack is a 5800 / 65c / 4s, set up with stock h7 prop for oval racing 6 laps.

yes i did that. i am really thinking maybe the larger 220 or 240 amp esc would be more beneficial than the 180 amp esc. what is the normal size esc used for this size motor running on 4s ? sorry for so many questions but i need to learn.

Magnet strength has nothing to do with esc choice. The 180 should be fine if you run a small prop to keep the amp draw in check. if you want all out speed and want to run a bigger prop, then choose a bigger esc.

I run that motor in a rigger with the 180A ESC. Prop at the moment is an X447 if that's any help. No problems there. I should try the H7 next time out to see how she runs.
