looking to upgrade my strut on my recoil 26 as I have to buy new strut because they dont sell just the bushing and the one in it lasted about 4 runs ( greased normally) OSE sells a .150 flex to 3/16" stub shaft. the cable in the boat measures .146". am I correct in assuming that that is a .150" cable? I would like to replace strut with a speedmaster brass bushing strut.

A slightly undersized 0.150" shaft. 4mm is 0.157", so it's not that. The floating bushing seems to last, but it's the bushing in the strut that wears! I put the lead-teflon Bushings in my Speedmaster strut. At least they are easy to change... -
Kintec used to make an upgraded strut for the Shockwave26 that essentially was just that, an floating aquacraft brass bushing on a traditional sized propshaft. The issue with the inexpensive Proboat RTR boats are the stuffing tubes are aluminum and metric sizes. I tore it all out of the shockwave and installed a standard sized K&S brass tube that ran all the way through the strut, a floating aquacraft bushing and a .150 flex shaft. It should, you can always spread the fingers slightly on the coupler... Its only 0.004". So those parts should work in your boat.Comment
