Just get the ballbearing kit for the hardware and call it good for now. The Graupner stuff is not that bad. You don't need to spend a bundle of cash for something that will make a 0.5% difference in overall results. I have a set I plan to use on a similar-sized (29") cat in the future.

I believe the bearings are 8 mm x 4 mm and are available from bocabearings.com (measure first, they may be 9 mm x 4 mm). Boca Bearings has a huge selection and good service. The bearing kit may also be available here at OSE, and the props are available here as well.A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolves

Standard Graupner 4 mm carbon-filled props work with the Graupner hardware. They are relatively inexpensive, require no extensive balancing, and are readily available here. If you switch hardware, you will need to get Octura (or equivalent) metal props for 3/16" shaft. More expensive and sharpening/balancing is mandatory.Originally posted by waynedawg View Postwhat size is the stock shaft for buying props?A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolves

Boca does metric, you just have to look for the button to search metric as opposed to inch sizes.

Wayne, I believe there's two meets coming up in Northern NJ .... both in Randolph NJ!
location is Randolph Park .... 1 is on Oct 26th - the 2nd is on Nov 9th!
You should be able go to www.namba-1.com to confirm!
If you can attend one of these you should be able to get a lot of info and more importantly see the speeds they are running at! Both meets are running all electric classes! We did it with a Bang!
