I just got my micro drifter in the water and I had a few problems. For one it leaned to the right under power real bad and for 2 I think is sat low in the water not under power. I did change the boat from none water cooled to water cooled by changing from a flat style rudder to a swedge style with a water pick upand it maybe allittle longer than the old one. Do you think that the rudder change would make it lean to the right that much? (I started with a x632 prop and it leaned under slow speed so I don't think it's torque from the prop) My batterys are 2 2s 3700 20 poly rc do I need smaller like 2000mah so it doesn't sit so low in the water? I know these are 6 to 8 cell boat were you can split the batterys 3 or 4 on each side and it's alot lighter than my set up. This is the first time I had it in the water and I purchased it from jay turner which he had it set up for saws with out the water cooling and I want it for a sport boat. Sorry it so long but thanx for any input.

Sounds like a weight issue. I think I has tanic 2000 packs and mine was real low in the water. What did Jay say he used for power?Steven Vaccaro

my micro drifter did lean over for a wile. but afte ri added some wight to the other side it now runs stright in all speeds. it do lay low in the water and you can exspect some water comming over the back of the boat more or less what you do. even when o only ran 1 3cell 1800 mah battery it came water over the back.
at the moment my micro drifter runs with 3cell lipo 2200 zippy`s on a feiago 380 8L and a hydro & marine 28mm prop.

do you have any vids of your boat running? I have an MHZ Micro Iceberg that I bought pre-built from Fine Design a couple of years ago, but I feel it is set up too heavy. It uses an Astro 05 motor and 6 full sized cells with .150 flex which has a good S bend to it, so there is some resistance turning it. It just seems like it could have been a "lighter" (in weight, power and amp draw), better performing boat if it had different stuff in it.Originally posted by video200 View Postmy micro drifter did lean over for a wile. but afte ri added some wight to the other side it now runs stright in all speeds. it do lay low in the water and you can exspect some water comming over the back of the boat more or less what you do. even when o only ran 1 3cell 1800 mah battery it came water over the back.

I believe it is the weight issue. My Micro Drifter runs straight and true with 2 3packs of 3600 NI-MH in series.

I will get some smaller packs and try again. When I went back and found the paper work that came from jay he said use 4000mah to 5000 mah so I will get 2000 to 2500 size packs to try. When I use the lighter packs do you think it will solve my leaning to the side problem? Maybe it's so low in the back that it's putting the rudder so deep that it's creating drag to make it lean? I will try to post some pics of the rudder used before and current so you can see the difference. Thanx for all the input.SV 27,brushless mini vee, renegade rigger, twinstorm, micro drifter, super hawaii , 1/12 miss budwieser

What is your CG as a percentage of total hull length? Is the hull ballanced on the centre point?

the cg of gravity
the cg was marked on the hull inside and with the 3700 batterys it was further to the raer of the hull even with the batterys as far forward as I could move them. I knew that was a problem but didn't think it would make it lean only be a little tail heavy and nose up.SV 27,brushless mini vee, renegade rigger, twinstorm, micro drifter, super hawaii , 1/12 miss budwieser

here are a few pics.
motor feiago 380 8L prop H&M 28mm. 2mm flex onto a 4mm treaded shaft. CG normaly around 34% when batteries are were the water outlet is. you cant se the led on the right side. but it is 115g worth of led ( same type as when you balance your car tires).
can post more pics when i get home from work.
