Hey all, hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction here. I go up to Maine every 4th of July and this past 4th i encountered power issues and not sure what the problem is. I'm running a hobbywing 180a v2 on 6s and once I drop it in the water and give it throttle it has great power for a second or so then seems like it goes in limp mode like its on a stock motor. What should I be looking for here, a battery issue, esc, engine. Obviously I'd like to pin point it without spending a bunch of money...

I'm running Zippy 5000mah 40c's in series. After the issue I threw in some Zippy 2's in series and same thing happened. For reference all batteries sit for long periods of time and only get used a couple times a year. They are also about 3 or 4 years old. Weird that it would happen to both sets of batteries. All connections look good.Originally posted by Mxkid261 View PostSounds like your batteries, what kind of batteries and C rating are you using?

Haven't touched the esc but might be a good idea to recalibrate then retest. I think I'm gonna buy two more 3s batteries from hobbyking as they seem to have the best price. Any input on what ratings/burst etc. with decent run times. Been in and out of the hobby for some time now
