Genesis off set rudder

I have an M447 and a 648, neither will lift the nose ,I'll try a little weight in the back ,so I'm thinking on this hard right hand turn under acceleration that these big props are pushing so hard that the servo can't hold the rudder so by off setting the rudder you help with that as well ,it didn't do this when I had the offset on the boat and a smaller prop on it ,

I have some ABC 1815 props ,I'll try one of those to see if it lifts the front ,I'll buy anouther hull for 70$ if I have to ,I really suck at reapair ,

I'm putting it back on ,that is some serious speed ,I had to do so much repair on the tips of the sponsons that I have to much weight up there now and can't really get the hull out of the water ,I ran a 648 today with the strut all the way up and the hull was still dragging ,batteries are as far back as the water outlet,I really thought the bigger prop would do the trick but it didn't and was hard on the batteries ,this boat is fast but if I could get it out of the water it would really be fast ,

A 648 prop didn't work well on mine. You need a prop to get the nose up. You also need to lengthen the slot so you can raise the strut higher.

Sometimes a few ounces of lead in the right place is the easiest cure for a poor CG.....

If you can't get the batteries back any further it sounds like you will have to move the motor back, either that or cut the sponson tips off and have another go at doing a lighter repair.

Gets the rudder out the prop wash (less drag, more speed) allows it to turn to the right a little better (for racing around an oval). All of my boats have oddest rudders whether I go straight or turn and I mostly go straight. Trust what I'm telling you. I set one up for a guy a couple weeks ago and it went 103mph the other day. Single motor Genesis. The steering system is the major down fall.

It only does it once in a while and if I correct it it stays straight ,it turns so fast I thought maybe the big prop was doing it ,do you know what the off set rudder does for the boat ? Thanks

Your steering likely has too much play. You need a stiff steering rid, servo mounted securely, good servo and linkage with little to no slack.

I removed the offset,seemed to go a little faster but will hook a hard right every now and then under heavy acceleration ,have a 447 and 648 prop,other than making it EZ to remove the flex shaft ,what does the off set rudder really do?
