Help with Blizzard Hydro

tip of the day----2 4400 2s packs will not fit in the predator so I know 2 4400 lipo packs wont fit the blizzard..

ESC Im running is the hextronik 120 with a lehner xl5000 (smaller can by far than a feiago xl can) got mine with PC adapter for 50$ never used from a guy on RRR also pistix adapter from fullers, I would almost bet that the "super simple" esc from hobby city would work fine and its super cheap--in fact its so cheap im thinking about buying one and testing it in my predator and using the 120 hext. in my mono----IM a HUGE FAN of saving cash and sorry but castle esc is kinda overpriced in a market that there are 99 ways to power something..again my opinion

I think i just bought that 8L motor on RRR did i make a mistake? what as far as battery will it take to power it? Is that can to big for the blizzard? Oh lord these elec. are confusing.

well you have the 8L comming so try it, one thing you might do is slot the motor mount bolt holes so you can get the motor lower in the hull if it turns out to long after that you can make a new hatch cover with a bubble over the part of the motor that is sticking up, both fairly simple things to try---wait till the motor gets to you so you can see what--if anything needs done to fit it-

The 8L motor will work fine. With that motor you could start with a 435 or 637 prop, you may end up at about a 440 or possibly a 640.

I never use the rear shoes on my riggers but perhaps you could stick them on with double sided tape to see how work for you.

What size battery fits in one of these Blizzards? Would two of these fit?

here dont know if this will give you an idea(hard to tell from just pictures) and I was checking CG placement in that pic--rats nest-- but the pack is a tanic 2s4400-- room is kinda tight in the nose plus you have to add the boom tube's running across takes away from space---here you have aprox. 5/8 tall above the front boom to work with right behind the front boom it drops to aprox. 1" my pack is aprox. 5.5 long if i put one more like it on top it scoots the top pack back quite away and screws with CG placement- also I added a "tray" for my pack to sit on giving me even less room BUT takes away the pressure points of the booms on the cells and gives them a good flat place to mount to. in the rat nest picture i dont have any cooling added to esc or motor lines ran or anything--space is gonna be limited for extras also have to put in a switch (wire loop with bullets)...
Mine is also a bit longer which includes the motor compartment so knock out aprox 1/2" of space inside the motor compartment on the blizzard.. i would say a good 2s pack-some of the 3s pack's ive seen-6-7 nimh cells- would all fit 4 lipo cells in any configuration would just be to much--even if you did shoe horn them in somehow as it goes back to the CG placement..hope this helps you some

Hmm... I use a NEU 5000 on my Blizzard and I have room to spare...
I guess your pack is "cut" differently then my pack is... it's more like a brick
mine is more elongated (longer then taller). It fit's in there with a hydra 240
sitting on top of it.

Maybe this would fit? They don't catch fire like a lipo, and can safely be charged in 30 min. I don't know, just a suggestion. I have had very good results with these batteries.

If you have enough mAh (4500+) and C rate of at least 20, you should be fine.

Yes, 2s1p will be safe with 8L motor, it's close with the 6L but should still be ok.

I hate to sound dumb Jay, But when you say 2s1p is that 2cell what does the 1p mean?

2s1p means 2 cells in SERIES, 1 cell in PARALLEL.
