Sounds like you need a professional. Someone who's familiar with pulling monsters of the deep to the surface.

You pretty right about that. If my son would have got there fast enough I could have got it. Not sure if I posted all the details but, I called him as soon as the tips were up. I already knew it was useless to use the recovery (I did make an attempt tho). He jumps on the 4 wheeler with a raft and it runs out of gas before he got to the end of the driveway. For some reason he turns the gas off on the petcock and fills it up. Then heads my way. The 4 wheeler died about 200 feet from the entrance to the lake. He keeps trying to crank it but forgot about the gas being off. When he runs the battery down he calls me. So I jump on the 4 wheeler I'm using and head to him. I can't get it started and this is about a $17k drag bike so I'm not leaving it on the side of the road to go get the boat. Ugh. Decisions. So I head home and get a tow strap, come back and pull him to where the boat went down. It's too late. Gone. He was all bent out of shape because he feels like it was his fault. I don't see it that way. Stuff happens. I'm about to head back out there shortly and make an attempt. I found this nifty gadget today at bass pro. It's an underwater camera with ir vision. Has a 50ft cable linking it to the screen. It's small and just right for the job. Wish me luck!32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

Well that was a waste of time and $250 lol. I couldn't see anything. It does clear up after 8ft and deeper. I dunno what I'm gonna do now. My buddy that dives wants to go snorkeling for it and I just don't think that's gonna do it. This lake is way to big for that. I'm gonna try and talk him into diving for it like we originally talked about. If not I may have to hire a non friend diver lol.
I went out in a raft, that's all I have right now. I did wear a life vest tho. Son stayed on shore. There was also some other people there kayaking on the other end. After slipping the camera in the water (on the end of a 10ft pole) and seeing that I couldn't see far at all, I just felt like all hope was lost. At least I have everything ordered to build another one just as good or maybe even better. I won't be so hard headed this time either. I knew I needed to lower the prop angle because it was running on edge at 96mph but I didn't want to give up any speed. My original Rivercat was not near as flighty because the strut was more level. Live and learn. I'd really like to know the failure point however. I think that's what's bothering me most.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

Also, have you considered some sort of rake that can dredge along the bottom on a rope?

Man if I had to bring a kayak out every time I run then I'd just give it up. I get to the lake via atv so it's not really feasable to haul that much gear. I'm definitely gonna return the camera as it's basically useless. I was talking to the guy there before I bought it and told him what I was doing and he said I had 30 days to return it do I should be good there. I might buy a dang kayak anyway tho. I dunno.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

I know it's not much good now in finding your boat, but for future incidents. I wonder if you could just chain it to a nearby tree or whatever and leave it there.
Maybe you can find some cheap pos locally. Craigslist it for a beater and chain that sucker up.

My Rivercat sank
It's funny cause over the years I've heard people saying "don't control you're expensive boat with a cheap radio". But it's like the same guys who build cheap retrieval rigs that are useless when the boat goes nose up. The best investment I ever made in the hobby was that kayak.

Well my retrieval boat hasn't let me down in two years. It's brought nose up boats in several times. It's just this boat had a major failure. It was probably only going 80-85 which may have been slow enough to where it didn't take much flight to slow it down. I didn't reinforce the hatch either like I should have. My fault. I didn't want to block the signal with carbon and I couldn't get the black fiberglass to lay well enough to use it for an inlay. Well I didn't try hard enough actually. Last night I did a customers hatch with the black fiberglass and it worked great. That's what I'll be doing for now on. I'm seriously thinking about a kayak. Seriously. I could chain it to the tree and funny you say that because me and bduncan were discussing that just the other day. I have to be careful tho, it's mainly kids that hang out at this lake. I was thinking about getting a two person, my son paddle while I dredged the bottom for my boat. At this point I don't care about anything in it except for my strut that I custom made. O and the mbp collet. I'll let you know what I come up with.Originally posted by Luck as a Constant View PostIt's funny cause over the years I've heard people saying "don't control you're expensive boat with a cheap radio".
