I can attest to this. Also, H&M sport hydros are not legal for IMBPA or NAMBA without significant modifications. Top speeds are around 55-56 mph before blow over.
You may want to look closer at your club rules. The issues are the stuffing tube where it comes out of the bottom of the hull and the open areas in front of the sponsons. To be legal, you have to remove material under the hull and fabricate extra material to reduce open areas in the front. Also, CG can be an issue depending on placement of the motor.

Having run the Zephyer 27, each one is a little different and takes some fine-tuning as with everything. I don't have anything against this particular model, but it does have particular props that it likes. It is just my humble opinion, but in my experience, the ML Boatworks GP265 seems to be more stable for race water and tends to be more predictable for adjustments in other trims for smooth water. I've also been able to run more props with the GP265 than I could with the Zephyer.

As with anything, you can get just about any model that is designed well to run good. It really comes down to your personal preference and limitation for expansion or availability of other components/parts such as props. With either of these choices, I'll be happy to share my personal experiences if you would find it helpful for your efforts.

I've decided on a rigger that i can run in both our restricted and open 4s classes.2 classes for the price of one lol. I've not owned a rigger before so should be fun :)

No worries Heath will be good to have enother restricted rigger out there. I just started building a EA rigger and may have it ready for there next outing to. I'm looking very hard at m&l for a sports hydro now the shipping is realistic lol.

Mike Emailed me & said that he's got rid of the higher priced options & only left the lower USPS price.
So shipping is easier to decide on now. Only one cheap option. Now I need to buy another kit.

after a bad start to the day on Sunday (went to the club dam and forgot batteries and props) i decided to work on my next rigger instead of testing. at about 3pm i couldn't do any more building so thought stuff it and went out to my dam. after a few runs with my current 22" restricted sport hydro (P limited) i have come to the conclusion it maybe fast but it's about as stable my wife so i just put an order into Mike for a GP265. will have to see how long it takes me to get it on the water.
wounder if i slip it into Pauls stuff he'll build it for me lol
