To turn fin or Not turn fin?

Building my first mono. Initially I'm not worried about it turning, I want to see how fast it can go straight. Just wondering if i can run with no turn fins on it? do they add to stability in the straights or just help with turning?

The turn fins should not even be in play when going straight, in fact they should barely or not at all even touch the water. Racers use only a right turn fin quite often. You will see a difference in water other than glass.

Since I don't know anybody who's run this hull yet, whose to say really.
Try it without, and see what the results are

Yeah I would run it without them and see how it handles. If you want to really carve them consider adding them on but point them back so they are not in the water while running down the straightaway.

Ditto, might spinouts a bit but ya never know. I only run one on the starboard on the Pursuit. I don't go left much but it doesn't seem too bad anyway.

Travis, when "I" eventually get my KBB Donzi together I'd like it to have turn fins. When I had that Spartan (DO NOT LAUGH... lol) I ran without turn fins and with turn fins. I really didn't notice much a difference but each hull is different as COG moves around.

Sorry man, I forgot to mention that as I thought most people saw the build thread on it. It's a kbb 34" mono. First mono I've but from scratch.....I'm a cat kind of guy but I figured I'd try something different.

Don't need turn fins for going straight,, I never used them in the 90's when I raced they became popular late on and they are a big help in heat racing mono's !
