Time to repair

Hello all , just a few word to say thanks too all of you for your advice and help , we have good time me and my son with our two SV27 , but the red one have a Accident , it`s a structural damage , on one side its a 12 inches long crack ...how can i repair it ? with epoxy and resin from inside ? and for the paint ?

p.s. its a shame to have crack in the Mitcher T signature

it happens. mine has matching cracks...one on each side. pull the radio box(to give you some working room), sand and clean the crack area (inside the hull), wipe it down with acetone, cut a piece of 5-6oz fibreglass to fit. now mix about 10-12 ml of epoxy and apply the the boat& 'glass, allow to cure.

deffinatly a shame, are the smaller sunsations like your 288 actually painted by his company? i would have figured it was only the big boats?

is the supervee actually painted by him or is it just his signature?

Hi , it`s just a signature he do to our boat at the Sunsation Rally ...i am very disapointed the crack happen when i hit a wave of my son and the batteries are not securised enought ..... Mitch its a great guy ,

paint: depends...if you want to save the signature then I'd go with a clear coat. if that is not important then I'd see about getting some spot filler,krylon(primer& top coat), 400grit, and some blue tape...and have at it . me, I would tend toward shooting some clear on it and waiting till boating season is over. alternatively just leave it as is(on the outside) and worry more about the inside.

We are on our second year of a family racing that goes on about once or twice a month during the summer with sv27's. As we say, "if you ain't rubbin you ain't racing". We just glass the damage, find a good sticker to hide the marks, and then really fix them in the winter. The less "pretty" they get the faster you go. Chuckle. Of course, this is with family.

I have one SV27 that I ran into an Oak Tree at full speed. The "thump" noise was not good. That is the point when I decided to buy a Spektrum radio. I repaired the nose and glassed the other damage and repainted it. It now stands ready to go again when the current hull gives out.

The point, try not get too attached to the boat and just have fun. Just a thought for the day..

These were taken a few weeks ago and the boats have been abused further since then....3 boats on a small course leads to paint exchanges...prop bite marks....and holes...
Our motto is if you're not upside down at least twice a day you're not really trying

Laughing. Good to see I am not alone. Unfortunately, my boat is at the river or I would take a picture. My brother in-law has boat that is basically one giant epoxy patch...

By the way. We all bought these very UGLY cowls that a guy sells on ebay for the sV27 and that allows it to self right. This is the way to go!! No more worrying about going upside down!

Thaks Ghost for sharing picture ...and for the yellow one , how hard is to repair it ? , you apply another layer of fiberglass inside ? , thanks to take time
