Cracked hull on bj

I suggest buying the syringes from west marine, they are awesome for stuff like this.

Using a thinned epoxy or glue is fine except this is a crack in an area that can't be properly backed because of the foam. The thin syrines at west marine will allow you to inject epoxy into the crack, not just over the outside of it. I believe this will yield the best results for long term strength. You can use a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol to thin the epoxy if you need to, a small amount goes a long way. In my experience it does slightly weaken the epoxy but not horribly.

only difference is I thin mine with denatured alcohol... Paddy yeah lesson learned, but it can be fixed and at least you didnt destroy a much more expensive hull. I use the 2 part foam often in my builds, its a great product when used right. I use it in small amounts and warm it up in water first. I also use the mentioned poolnoodles but they do not really provide the structural integrity that the 2 part foam can give you....these hulls BJ and MG often come up for sale on here... DJ

Thanks guys. I will give that a try. I am not upset over it as I have a blast with this boat. I have taken it out around 15 times in the 20 days or so that I have had it and love it. This boat will be my loaner boat to my friends eventually so I can get them hooked on the hobby so I am not such a loaner, lol.

Well yesterday even after two coats of epoxy the battery tray came apart. The the stringers have some flex in them now. Also my motor is crooked after every run and that is due to me over tightening the allen bolt. Any idea what I can do about that?

While epoxying the trays and stringers back in place I have ANOTHER CRACK! This one much worse as it is below the waterline where the prop goes in the water. I know there is a lot of vibration in this area of the boat. I assume more epoxy?

It is not, just a factory prop.

Might need to invest in a prop. balancer. U can sharpen and balance stainless steel props. A set of small files and sandpaper also come in handy. there is tutorials on an app that can help you to learn how to balance the factory props don't come balanced. Or for a fee there are excellent people that know how to balance the props on this site. having a

Well got two coats of epoxy on it now. Would have put a piece of fiberglass but was so last min and I want to play tomorrow. This 3 week old boat is now my beater. A lot sooner then I anticipated.
