Can the shear pin on a Speedmaster rudder be replaced with a brass nut and bolt?

Here is my setup , no more shear pin . Awesome holding power and will still kick back. I came up with this because my rudder kept loosing adjustment and not because I was hitting stuff. Dealing with the brass flat head and trying to get wrenches on the nuts is rediculous. Make you one for $7 shipped , includes stainless bolt and washer. It will be machined a little better than mine in the pic of coarse .Originally posted by Daveknitter View PostCan the shear pin on a Speedmaster rudder be replaced with a brass nut and bolt?

Thanks for the quick reply, sort of figured it was a brass bolt wasn't sure if it was something special.
