electrical tape works well also, comes in different colors, 1/2 inch wide and curves easy.

Does anyone know where the heck to get the Neu 1521 1Y Motor Aluminum Water Jackets? Been doing the google, ebay and rc boat sites but I can't seem to find one. Steve sells them but is out of stock, and damn if I can find them anywhere else.

I went ahead and got the "Futaba 2.4GHz FASST system" and all the parts. Now all I need to get is the 'Neu 1521 Motor Aluminum Water Jacket' (out of stock) so need to look around and find one, and Hatch tape.

I always wondered why there not some type of seal built into the boat hatches. Almost like a weatherproof door/window that seals once the 'hatch' is closed. Like some type of locking bolt hatches that have a rubber seal trim stopping water intake, but cutting out the need for Hatch tape.

No method of seal that I have tried works as well as quality tape. The best in my opinion is hockey tape.

I have been using the Spektrum DX3.0 with out any problems in my boat. The only thing I have noticed is that they are prone glitching if they get damp. I solved this problem by spraying Corrosion X in the receiver.

Sent a message off asking about that part as well (already placed my order today so Steve is going through it now). All the other stuff (Prop nut. 5mm motor coupler, water outlet are in the boat) come with the Jolly Hull so I'm ok there.

I'm guessing that it's the damn $$$ it takes to be serious in this hobby. I know back in the day there was no way in hell I could pay for all of this.

The drive dog is attached to the shaft with a set screw betwen the strut and the prop. Looks like this...

Thanks, I did have some of that from my Helicopter stuff, but a few I'm not sure about.

I have the velcro, heat shrink tubing, solder, lipo balancer (built into the 610c charger) and Castlelink programer.

What type of foam? Is there some type of fun tube that everyone use’s? I’ve seen them in some hulls, but not sure where to get nee that is that small.

I use pool noodes. You can get them at Wal Mart, Target, Walgreens, just about anywhere. Small, inexpensive, very effective.

Some things I see you left out:
velcro, heat shrink tubing, drive dog, prop nut, thrust bearing, motor coupler, receiver battery pack, water outlet, kwik switch mount, solder, and a lipo balancer. You might want to get the CastleLink programer also.

It comes with it's own antenna. Its a very small coax cable with the shield cut off at the tip, leaving about 1.5" of exposed center conductor. That's your active antenna element. You just need to slide it into a small plastic tube to hold it vertically. Manual got it covered.

5.5 gold connectors – how many will I need?

At least 5 pairs. Get 10 pairs and keep the rest as spares or for more battery packs later on.

5.5 gold connectors – how many will I need?

Lipo’s 4s2p – there are a lot of choices in these, but do any of you have a tried and true brand you like more? I figure I’ll start off a little slow, than move up in cell, but I’m also of the mind that sometimes it’s better to again spend the money up front vs. later on and having extra lipo’s sitting around.
- Is there a good link that explains how to connect these up in the boat and what I may need?

I’m also looking for any good links on build layouts, battery placement, etc. Still searching the forums, but a lot of you know the exact place to look so always good to pick your brains 

I currently have this charger/balancer, it’s not a terrible one, but I know there’s much better.
