Thats going to be a fun setup.

Don't forget your 5.5mm gold connectors.

You will need two lipos for 4s2p.

Also the 1521 1.5d will swing at least 445 - 447 on 4s. You may want to try the carbon props in this range until your temps are right, then get a nice shiny one.

I have had bad problems with the spectrum dx 2.0, I would not reccomend this radio, the signal bounces off the water and over the boat. I hate mine so much that I wouldn't even put it on the swap shop.

    Please keep us posted. John

Well I have the the twin drive jolly ... that said I was going to put the antenea on the inside i decided against it!

Now I have put it inside of our Supervees ---- I was concerned about the Jolly --- with the amount of money invested in her I feel more secure with the antenea outside!

A loss of signal and hitting something would just ruin my day! I know some have mount them inside but my driving skills are not the greatest sooooo .......

Jolly Cat - Do I need anything else for her to go?

Ok I’m building the Jolly Cat – Single drive and trying to lock down my order. I wanted to post this to all of you in the hopes that you could steer me in the right direction or give feedback on things I may want to think about or that I’m missing that will prevent me from getting her in the water. I don’t need it to be flying over 50 mph, but later in life I may want to, thus why I went with a good hull from the start.

Will I need to order an antenna, if so which one will work with the DX2?

What type of foam? Is there some type of fun tube that everyone use’s? I’ve seen them in some hulls, but not sure where to get nee that is that small.

Total Parts needed for the boat:

ToysPort Jolly Catamaran – Single Drive $599.00
    Octura m440 Sharpened & Balanced - $34.99
    Large 1/8"ID Silicon Tubing (3’) - $1.99
Castle Creations Hydra HV 180- $379
    Spectrum DX2.0 DSM 2CH Pistol – (I think this comes with a servo) $169
Spectrum receiver (is there a water proof version?)

    Order from the Neu site:
    Neu 1521 1.5d 1860kv motor & Water jacket
Lipo Batteries (might start out with 4s then better later)

    Extra’s:
    Corrosion X 6 Ounce Aerosol - $8.95
    Rubberize-It Grip Dip Coating - $9.99
Roll of Hatch Tape - $2.99

    Again thanks for any guidance.
Working...
