beat way to waterproof a ice 240

Just wondering if you guys could give me some ideas on waterproofing a castle ice 240. Given my driving skills and my hate for hatch tape, it's gonna get wet. I'm sure of it. My epoxy method doesn't look feasible for this thing as there's alot going on with it and doesn't look easy to take apart. Thx

Man look....last outing I didn't have my hatch bolts done so I taped. Ummm. No. That crap is for the birds. I spent more time taping and untaping than running. Not to mention it was a royal pita. At least I gave it a chance. Before I drew a conclusion that I hated it before I even tried it. Well trying it confirmed it lol.

In this case you will have to waterproof everyting inside your boat and the cheapest tool you have here is a roll of 3M tape.Gill

Tape is much cheaper than a new esc. If you're worried about taping then an already waterproof esc may be what you need. That Castle sure is expensive to experiment with.

You should work out a deal with the esc manufacturer to supply you direct. I see a large number of esc purchases in your future. :-P

Scale down motors and run aqua craft sealed esc. 60amp and a 2030 can get you to the mid fifty's in a hydro. still going to have to seal up your rx cover with corrosion X ,try glad press and seal wrap works better than balloons you can seal each lead individually and still see the operations light.

"waterproof" is a relative term... The chances of you "waterproofing" everything is simply going to be a stroke of luck. If you get any significant amount of water on your electrical components, the chances of ANYTHING electronic surviving is 50/50 at best. Many are give good advice, and they are doing it for a reason. Think about that for a moment.

Do yourself a favor and make your boat as waterproof as possible, event if it means tape.

Was just talking about this earlier today. 400 for an esc or 5 for a roll of tape. Bring a pair of scissors, it shouldn't take that long to tape up.

Well I have the blue waterproof savox servos in two of my boats. Got them wet slreasy and they still work so I'm ok there. The receiver is epoxy coated. Got them wet. Still with so good there. Motor is a mamba monster in one which is waterproof, so good there. I just need an esc that is. In my mini, everything is waterproof and I've got a bunch of water in it on maiden run (not sure where from but I addressed several things at once and it's good now) and everything is fine. I know some of you guys are still old school, and that's ok and I respect that. I myself have gone through lots of trouble to make my hatches strong, very water tight and easy to remove so I'm not going to veer from that anytime soon. Also, my shocker, which was taped up, still managed to get a little water in it. It's a boat. ..it's going to get water in it sometime or another. Whether it rides up the flex or whatever the case may be. If you've never had a drop of water in any boat you've owned, your a bad mofo lol....I'm not quite up to that yet lol :)

I'm thinking swapping my castle ice for a swordfish 240 that's slreasy waterproof. That may be my best bet. Or maybe I'll seal the while esc up instead of coating the board. I dunno yet.
