1717 vs 1527

So........which one would be a better pick...for going fast? Let me be more specific...1717 1650 kv on 6s vs 1527 1250kv on 8s....which would potentially propel my 37" cat faster?

Everything else being equal likely the 1527.

Yup, theoretically, you're getting a tad more rpm from the 1527. Loaded rpm should be a bit more, having the lower kv on higher voltage. Neither combo is really gonna get you to the speed you want, though.

Yes I figured that out today. I was talking to Tony last week and he was telling me about marks boat how it set the record at 102 mph. Tony said he had a 1527 in it. So I bought one with the quickness. Then I contacted mark and found out he used two 1527's. ....so yea....I don't think I'll get there either. I can hope for around 80mph tho. May not even do that. O well. Maybe next boat. I just wanted to make sure this motor was at least as strong as the 1717 I had in the cheetah. It woukd do 62 with ease but if I tried to go faster (it ran wet too so it had more in it) than 62 it would fly out the water. So I figured this hull should do at least 70 with a 1717 if i ran it looser and a better prop. Soooooo many variables I know lol. But I know the 1717 was a beast of a motor.
