Mhz Lizard build 2014

I'am new to this forum and also new into in rc-powerboats, so I hope you can give some helpfull advice. Long time ago I got a almost new Mhz Lizard from germany, but since then I has only been standing on the shelve. But now it's time to get it to the water, but at first I need you help and advise to get it ready.
Do you think it needs turnfins and race trimm tabs, to be steedy on the water? And as you can see it has a Z-drive and the prop is a 3 blade 49 or 50 mm, which brushless motor will fit the boat with that prop or should I change the prop to another? I was thinking on a Seaking 180A as ESC with watercooler, but I don't know about motors maybe a Leopard 4082 with watercooler?
I'am not racing in a championship, but for fun an enjoy for me and the people on the beach at the local lake.

Is the Z drive meant to be ran so low? Looks like the prop may be a little too submerged.

I would remove that Z-drive and install new hardware and running gear. There are quite a few MHZ Lizard builds on this forum including one I did about 5/6 years ago, do a search as there are way better options for power etc. today than what I first used and show in that build. That hull is great and if it is the Xtreme Lizard that is better still.

When I first saw your picture I also thought the prop was set too low. I am not familiar with the Z-Drive. I picked up a brand new hull from e Bay and used hardware that I can get here from OSE. In the video my rudder was cut short by almost 1"---something I had planned to do but the pictures were taken before the operation. I wanted this rudder for the dual pickup, that's all.

It's the Lizard in 790 mm. not the Xtreme Lizard, but consider installing new hardware because the Z-drive is not good for the power we can put into it now with new brushless motors and lipos.

I don't know about the AC Revolt30, but the MHZ Lizard Xtreme is very capable at handling rough water, that being said, the Lizard is only an inch shorter, according to MHZ, they came out with the "Xtreme" version to accomodate the loading of NiMH cells, my guess is that both of these hulls (MHZ) should perform similarly.
I think the FG work on the MHZ is top notch, I did reinforce it by adding a layer of FG cloth inside---something I do anyway to all the hulls.

No offense to Grim or anyone that runs the Revolt but.....yep. Only my opinion of course.

Ditch the z drive like the others said. People get some very impressive results with these hulls very few hulls compare to an mhz. For motors a leopard 4082 would be great 1600kv 6s, seaking 180.

And which lipo to this combo?

Any good 6s would do, for example: http://dinogylipos.com/6-cell-65c/112-5000mah-6s-65c put two of these (6s2p= connected in parallel) and you will have good run time.

I have not run the Revolt...therefore no comment...but my experience with RTR boats is and do not get me wrong they are built to a price point and do not offer the same quality as a bare hull with your choice of goodies. The Xtreme hull is a real deep vee hull design and will handle better than the Revolt type of hull design in most water conditions. Also, please note that you will probably replace a lot of the Revolt components with better quality ones and end up spending more than a custom built boat would......Just my two cents.

Oh no!
I just got the prices on the parts for the rebuild of the Lizard, $705,- for that price I can buy me 2 Proboats Impulse 31 and still have some money left for some lipo's.
