2 hardcase packs swelled on me today

got new pack turnagy 5s 8000mah 50c pack charged on hyperion charger ran great about 5 min on pursuit with x447 3bld and 4074 1800kv motor pack barely warm motor cool had one of the buzzer warning deals that plug into balance plug . which was on limet is this about right or should I go smaller on prop. also cells were at 3.89 to 3.86 per cel on storage charge

I just had a Hyperion 6s pack do this exact same thing, very old pack with probably around 200 cycles on it. I'm guessing it was just it's time, Motor and ESC were both just a little over 100deg. when the boat came in but the pack was puffed.

been a lot more carefull now not to over thrash . and using storage charge if im not gonna use it for a few days hoping they will last longer

i guess i should have posted in bat section are the voltages normal per s for the new pack ?

never..and i repeat never with newer hard case lipos store them with more than a 50% charge in them..they will do what you explained..many dont know me..but i have been in the rc industry for over 25 years..all newer liops should not be stored with more than 50%..bad things happen..especially with the newer 80 to 100c packs

thats what i am doing now with new pack used it once and instead of putting full charge in i ran storage charge. ok next question is this i have a hyperion charger which i think automaticly puts in amp charge rate. so for regular charge i program 5s 8000mah and hit enter this is a 5s 1p pack at 8000 mah some one told me to charge it as a regular 5s hope that is right it has one run on it so far
