I can tell you my planned combo for a fantasm. I was going to run two castle 1512 2650kv motors on 4s each. Likely going to run mamba monster 2 esc's. Why? They are smooth esc's, completely waterproof, efficient and After running it hard it never got hot. I dod upgrade the wires on it for the battery input to 10ga. The boat probably did around 55 on it maiden voyage and that's not even finding the prop it likes nor changing any settings. The alternate combo was going to be two 1515 2200kv castle motors on a pair of high amp esc's running on 4s for cruising and 6s when I wanted to go faster. I'm a fan of castle motors because they are reliable and get the job done.

I like extreme flight to. They make great planes. I have a lot of small electrics to. They are a lot of fun and I'm a lot more daring with them. Full throttle down line in to a parachute/elevator missing the ground by just a few feet always get a few oohhhs and ahhhs from the peanut gallery.

NIce stuff!!! I do some aerobatic flying much smaller electric stuff, mostly extreme flight planes, I have all their 48" planes and a couple of 60" and now have an 80" extra. I love them all the 48" planes are great to learn on and fly like much bigger planes, and airframe speedo and motor are about 300 bucks!!!

Im selling a 3DHS Bigfoot RTF with a VVRC 40cc twin, CF falcon prop, Hitec 7955TGs and an AR12120 rx. Im also selling a Aeroworks Edge 540 with a DLE55, Mejezlik CF prop, CF wing tubes and landing gear. No servos or rx.

The Edge was one of my first gassers and the BigFoot was bought and built in December as a fun slow flyer. I like large aerobatic plains and have out grown the 55cc Edge and I thought I wanted a high wing plane. I was wrong :) . I like 100" to 106" aerobatic plains in the 120cc size. They are small enough to tumble well for 3D and yet large enough to present well for IMAC. I have flown planes in the 126" size with 170 to 222cc motors. They are to big for my liking. They feel slow to tumble and the price is crazy if you put it in the ground.

im still a big fan of the shocker cf version. i have one and its a nice hull. im not sure what it would take to do 80 in a shocker. im in process of building a 51" victory cat that im sure you could get to that speed with the power im using (2 castle 2028 8-10s) and in your budget.

dont spend your money on this hobby!!!!!!!!! you'll kick, scream, yell, blow stuff up, get burned, and cry........................................but you will have the best time doing it!!!!!!!!
V's don't lend well to twins, they are very finicky, when they turn, one of the motors unloads a LOT more than the other. I'am partial to aeromarine cats and you could easily build one w/in your budget. But aeromarine boats aren't as pretty as a lot of the other ones out there.

I was the OP of the Zonda or Genesis thread.

I will be selling two plaines at Joe Nall week (middle of May). If all goes as planed I will have $2500 to spend on new toys . If you have never been to Joe Nall google it and make it a bucket list rc event to go to

I'm leaning towards the Zonda/Fantasm. I want to build a FE twin for fun and sport racing with friends. I would like to run in the 70-80mph range reliably. A "V" hull is not out of the question but like the Cat's and the look of cf.

Anyone want to suggest a boat they want to see get built within my budget ($2500)? I don't feel the need to spend it all but wont be upset if I do. I have plenty of 60-120C 4s LIPO's so 4s or 8s would help keep the cost down. I would prefer to do most if not all of the ordering from US stores do to shipping and customer service.
