MTI Catamaran

Is anyone familiar with an MTI powerboat and can tell me if the stepped hull profile view accurate? In an RC application, is the inside of a catamaran tunnel (bottom of the L shape tunnel looking from the rear) flat front to back even though they have steps?

I'm just curious to know if the yellow MTI hull above once it gets on a plane in the water in an RC application, will it have a tendency to catch air and flip since it has a rake appearance (front higher than rear)? I'm considering a scratch build and there's so many mystic cats out there already and no scale looking MTI cats. Most RC MTI cats looks bloated in the rear and not sleek like the newer MTI ones. Thoughts or opinions?

Why don't you import the pic directly into CAD and trace the profile? It would be a lot closer.
You would still be left in the dark about the tunnel geometry, but go for it!!

Yep, I have traced it and it looks pretty much like the profile view of the yellow MTI. You're right about the shape of the tunnel but for an RC application, you'll have to make room for electrics (single center mounted electric motor or gas engine) and etc so it will be much thicker than a real boat. I'm just wondering if I need to make the parts of the hull touching the water flatter even though it has steps. So basically when it's on plane, the prop is in the water and most of the hull is skimming the water. I hope that makes sense.

Btw, anyone come across the latest version of the Max Cat plans? I should probably use that as a reference since it's a popular scratch build.

Make it a twin electric, and keep the profile low.
I have a 39 inch custom cat project on the back burner that will be wide and flat for twin electrics. I still have a LOT of CFD work to do on existing designs.
