Well I put it all back together with a new fightercat 101 esc. No dice.
Esc makes the motor beep so I'm sure the motor is good. Checked Bec voltage... Good. Noticed the servo went crazy for a few seconds. The receiver light wasn't on. Receiver gets hot when I give it power. So I'm pretty sure that is the problem but I have no idea why it would have gone out too. Guess I'll go pick up another at the lhs sometime this week.

I have had a ESC take out my RX before. You can put something inline to protect it but... like I said"I have had one rx lost" out of how many failures.

Basicly a cap http://spektrumrc.com/Products/Defau...ProdID=SPM1600 I think I have some that go inline here too. Somewhere

Absolutely a smoked controller with an internal BEC can take out an RX. The BEC can fail and allow full battery voltage to the receiver.

I have an external Bec. Bec still works perfectly. I checked the voltage. I think this whole crap storm started because this battery failed. I put it on my charger last night and it's got nothing. I'm taking the battery apart tonight and see what happened inside. All I can see now is the connector port is melted. I expected more out of gens ace batteries. I guess anything can fail.

Went to get a receiver at the lhs and they were out. Paid for it and have it by the weekend. Hopefully my connectors be here too. I have the boat back together as of last night and all I need is the receiver. It ought to have more power and run cooler with the 6.5mm bullets attached right at the packs. Hopefully I can make a successful run this time. I'm going to keep the 2200kv motor in it for the weekend. Then it's getting yanked for the mini Zonda if it fits.... Ill find this out tonight

Keep an eye on the BEC, I had a almost new Castle Super BEC fail and I ruined two RXs and a Servo before I figured out what was wrong. It would intermitantly go full battery voltage, the first two times I checked it checked fine. It was in my 1/8 Sport Hydro now I use a seperate 6.6 LIFE Rx battery.

Travis aka Magic Smoke Man glad no hull damage brother ! I see our Castle connectors held up just fine !!!!! I run 6S on 1515 2200kv all the time with no probs, just prop down a bit bro and get something other than a FC esc, I use the T-180 on several 2200kv 6S setups with no issues....DJ

What prop and what hull do you run 6s on?

I just got it back together. Everything working now. Stole the receiver out of the Daytona until Friday. I also made some changes to my 2s batteries. I have 4 of them all the same. I ripped the plastic boxes off them and turned them into soft packs with better connectors. The one battery that failed during this fiasco I was able to fix. The solder trace from the board to the female connector on one side was lacking much solder. The connections are way better now. I made a carbon fiber end plate on the end opposite of the wires then shrink wrapped with black. I used a heat gun and removed the original labels.... Put them on and clear shrink wrapped over the whole thing. They turned out nice and are much lighter and compact.

Tks, the Pursuit and Cheetah belong to my bud. But I still have quit a fleet growing here. Between the 2 of us we have around 30, Last count think I have 20 or so. Its definately an addiction, everytime I think I'm done another one shows up I want !.... DJ

Travis, the Cheetah is getting a TP 4060 1870KV T180 6S X445...once its right on that setup, going to put one of my castle Ice 240 in it and try 8S....DJ
