Need some ideas, thoughts, comments.... Am I wasting my time? I was thinking about epoxying a larger piece of tube in the hull and silicon the smaller tube into it..... Yes.... No.... Maybe so?

I've gone to this on newer builds and have been converting older boats over to it. Works great, makes replacement, bending or adjustments easier too. I was a bit worried about leaking and the stuffing tube twisting inside the larger tube under load. But so far after several years neither has happened.

Neither, it simply isn't needed and using a glue limits the adjustments possible. Fifteen + boats with this method and never a leak between the two tubes nor any twisting. Most were "J" bends.

+1 With Fluid. Best way to do it on cats & Hydro's. Never tried on a mono. No glue needed as Fluid says.

Here is one example that worked for me on my Pro Boat Mystic 29 "Minus-Two" with .078" Wiredrive.Originally posted by kfxguy View PostOne more question. How long should I make the "hull" tube? Pic may be helpful too if someone doesn't mind. Thx
I've also cutoff the outside tube flush with the hull and extended the inner tube a little further out.
On my new N2 Cat (second picture), I'm going to have to use something (silicone, etc) to hold the smaller second tube in place. There isn't any bend there to hold it and it slides pretty freely in and out. Will be even worse if I try a .047" wire.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA
